HAPPINESS IS A STATE OF MIND   (World  Happiness  Day, 20th March)-by Dr.Sunil Chopra

In an assignment handed over to the pupils of ‘AVANTI HOUSE SCHOOL, ENGLAND’  the teacher asked to write–“What do you want to be when you grow up?” According to the teacher one student’s answer was quite weird as he just wrote ‘Happy’, but in my views the answer was quite fine and absolutely correct.

Our sole aim in life should be to lead a happy and healthy life. The word ‘HAPPY’ comes from the middle English word ‘hap’ which means ‘good luck’. It is worth sharing that several of early European words for ‘HAPPY’ really pointed towards ‘BEST OF LUCK’ rather than reflecting feelings of joy.

Happiness is a state of mind and its definition as well as meaning varies from person to person. For some a lot of wealth is happiness and for others attaining the highest educational qualification. For me happiness is nothing short of an enjoyable or satisfied state of being. Happiness makes us admirable, healthier, successful, learn better and increases our life span.

Happiness is up to us only, and for it nothing but an optimistic attitude is required. Stress and worry are the main culprits and they should be taken head on. If there exists  a solution to your problem, then why worry and if your problem has no solution or cure, then what will be the use of worrying?

We must stop finding faults and always think of remedies. We should leave no stone unturned to maintain an upbeat personality because….

‘For every ailment under the Sun,

There is a remedy or there is none.

If there be one, try to find it and if there

be none ,never mind it.’
