‘TIS A MAYHEM ‘ !- Dr. Ashwani K. Malhotra
The second wave of the Covid -19 pandemic has struck the country with such a ferocity which we have never witnessed before and God forbid in the future too !
Amid the daily news filtering in through the media over the unprecedented rise in corona positive cases and fatalities, the confusion, suspicion and distressing news of a shortage of the life saving oxygen and drugs, patients dying in hospitals and ambulance, the Centre and state Governments and administrations are struggling to keep the health care system afloat and contain further spread of the virus.
To put simply we have been caught napping. Many of us had become complacent after the vastly reduced numbers early this year. In the process we partied, holidayed, attended religious, social and political congregations, ignoring the warnings of the health experts and scientists.
However, this is not the time to indulge in the blame games, that we had shamelessly been doing all along. The need of the hour is to learn from the past failures and each one of us needs to follow the health norms strictly and cooperate with the authorities.
The situation is indeed alarming, nothing short of a catastrophe, there is no need to act panicky ! We need to remain calm, alert and act with courage and determination to weather the storm
At the same time the Governments and the administrations would do well to learn from their past failures, introspect and devise a long term strategy to to deal with the pandemic.

Yes Dr. Malhotra, time to keep a calm head on our shoulders and a steady hand to get things going in the right direction. There will be time enough for retrospection and building a better system in the future, we hope! The ball got dropped by the people who should have kept it rolling in the right direction. Thank you for your thoughtful article.

Excellent piece of information, but the ruling party is definitely to be blamed for the mess created n my view is that our PM cannot handle such catastrophe n is a puppet in the hands of big time industrialists. Yeh ek akele aadmi ka kaam nhi hai. All are involved in this dirty dangerous political game.
Than you sir for having taken the time to read the article and your comments
Situation across our country is very critical..health system is collapsing..public will definitely be in panic if information like shortage of icu beds medicines oxygen will come in media..Media should play a very positive role in this situation..and ofcourse one should stay home as much as he can to be safe..Again Dr.Malhotra is emphasizing on prevention is better than cure..Be home keep you and your family safe!!
