‘DISCOURTEOUS DISCOURSE MALIGNING MODERN MEDICINE —-By Dr.Sunil Chopra
In the current time of trials and tribulations all of us should become highly responsible, talk politely ,sensibly and stop talking nonsense at all costs.
By demeaning others we won’t be able to stand tall, this is guaranteed. Courtesy costs nothing, but it diminishes discord.
What made the famous tycoon and renowned yoga trainer Ram Dev speak so bad and irrelevant about the modern system of medicine and the doctors,is beyond my comprehension. The members of the medical fraternity, the lfe-saving drugs and the efficacy of the vaccine were condemned profusely by him.The language of this man who has earned a lot of name and fame , was not only derogatory but abusive too. What he uttered speaks volumes of his illiteracy, immaturity and arrogance. Still he thinks that he is above the law of the land .Who can deny the fact that It is much easier to be critical than to be correct ?
Doctors have been putting their best, work from dawn to dusk in all type of conditions.Don’t think that they are doing their duties only at the cost of their own healths, but in this pandemic they are badly jeopardising the lives of their spouses and kids too.The current catastrophe has really wreaked havoc all over the world and done an irreparable loss to economy of the most of the small as well as developing countries. This is not the time to abuse anyone,it is not the time to make tall and false claims, and also it is not the time to doubt our government’s policies and programmes, but it is the time to stand by one and all (especially doctors, nurses, other frontline workers and of course the people at the helm of affairs),help the sick as well as starving and give succour as well as strength to those who have been bodily and financially shattered.
TODAY LET US ALL PLEDGE TO BE COURTEOUS AND GENEROUS.

You have hit the nail on its head by highlighting that discourtesy can really be harmful ,especially in testing times.
Excellent blog. The wings of those who try to add fuel to the fire, should be clipped.
You have spoken from the heart, doc. Yes sir it is not the to speak ill of anyone. However let science prevail in Covid times.
Ramdev is a shrewd business man, media hype is his fodder. Claiming that authorities (किसी का बाप भी) can’t arrest him. He should learn some lesson from the fate of some other so called gurus, babas
Medical fraternity is busy saving lives and some other like Ramdev are busy doing business in the name of immunity
Baba Ram dev is notorious for his language. He is a wrongly picked person by our politicians for their vested interests. He always claims himself above the law of land, challenging higher authorities.
Chopra g ur commentry is timely, peneterating nd upto the mark
Ramdev shouldn’t be interfer between ayurvedic and allopathy his strategy is only to sell products of patanjali
Nothing else
Last week Baba Ram Dev and his associate said so many things against the allopathic system and the medical community who are working day and night in this critical pandemic situation.
Language used against the medical system and professionals was totally inappropriate more importantly is unacceptable at bigger platform.
This is unfortunate in India people misuse their constitutional rights at all levels it may Baba Ram Dev or any political leader/leaders of any party.
Dr.Sunil Chopra has expressed a real concern against the inappropriate words used by yoga Guru and Indian styled business man.
For sure there is great difference in the message delivery of uneducated person versus a professional. All healthcare systems in India are used to cure the ailments for the humanity. No system should blame or criticize each other. Team work approach with mutual respect must be maintained by all.
Thank you so much Dr.Sharma for your detailed comments. You have touched the right chord and incisively highlighted the importance of suitable utterances.
During this pandemic period everyone should support each other in such a way that one should feel strong and encouraged. Talking badly against a class which has been fighting from the front seems to be not in good taste, rather it speakes volumes of those insignificant people’s fake ego. Such people can criticise the medical intelligentsia but can never steal their shine.
His discourtesy was intentional and aimed at marketing and advertising his untested and dubious products. However, given the present circumstances, his narrative did not find favour and rather badly backfired on him.
This person (I don’t know why people still call him “Baba”) is a shrewd and cunning businessman. He sells his products by exploiting religious and patriotic sentiments.
Ayurveda has been a part of Indian society even before he emerged on the scene, but there has never been any confrontation of the type that we see now. He is one of those who believe that since they cannot raise their level, they should concentrate on lowering the level of those above them.
It is a timely, right and justified action on the part of the medical fraternity to challenge his statements and call out his bluff.
