‘Father–an indispensable entity’—A father’s day appreciation  by Dr. Sunil Chopra

   (Father’s day——–20th,June,21)

A father is a beacon, a central pivot and what not.He is nothing short of a guiding torch whose affection and encouragement invariably shows kinship the way.

Although the role of a father in a family is immense, but he is often underestimated and taken for granted. If a mom is the heart of the family, the dad is its vertebral column.Being the central structure he supports and strives utmost to come to the expectations of each and every member of the family . A father is an embodiment of tolerance and sacrifices. He is strong, yet a highly flexible multipurpose member  who is considered the head but rarely saluted for his contributions .A father is a  hubby, a dad ,a brother and above all a son. He toils dawn to dusk so that no ménage feels offended or let down, without bothering about his own health, longings and yearnings. He is an example of fortitude, purity, truth and hardwork.

Fathers have a crucial impact on their children’s comfort and security–an impact and influence that initiates even before the child is born. A father is regularly and repeatedly available for his children, emotionally, physically and financially.

(SONORA SMART DODD)

This year the ‘FATHER’S DAY’  falls on 20th June ie. Sunday. It is celebrated in so many countries like Canada, the UK,Argentina,South Africa,Greece ,Ireland,  India and the USA on the third Sunday of the June. It was founded by SONORA SMART DODD , the daughter of  an American civil war veteran William Jackson Smart.

It is a day to honour fatherhood and paternal bonds, as well as revisit the influence of fathers in families and the society .A family without a father is like a boat without the boatman and oars. Let us pay a rich tribute to all living and departed fathers today.

The role that a father plays is rarely recognised. Though both parents have their individual roles, yet it is mostly the mothers who are more appreciated. A father is the cohesive and binding force in the family. He silently sacrifices his own comfort or desires for the well being of his children. He may not show it, but a father also feels pain joy, sorrow and anguish at times. It is nice to know that a day is dedicated to him.

Chopra g you are absolutely right in expressing your opinion on status of father in the family. He is the sole in a body, maintaining balance and trust in the relationships. He is like a play back singer in the movie, people like the person on the screen but the person behind the screen is more important.
Chopra g people like us who last their father in Bachpan know the real worth of father. Father is real emotion security to the whole family nd especially to his offsprings.
Really we use to miss the warmth of father every day.

Indeed Father is the head of the family, he is the first hero of his children and first guide . Father’s Day is the celebration of his love, labour and sacrifices for the family. It’s saluting his spirit. Dr Chopra, you have rightly penned this article. Thanks.
