Ludhiana Academy’s four players getting basketball applause internationally

Punjab Basketball Association is on cloud nine as four of its trained players at Ludhiana Basketball Academy(LBA) are currently earning applause in the international basketball matches.PBA president R S Gill (DGP Retd) informed that Basketball Federation Of India(BFI) has selected 3 players Viz; Jagdeep Singh Bains, Amjyot Singh Gill ,and Amritpal Singh to represent the Indian Sr. Men Basketball Team for the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Qualifying Tournament being held at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from 20th – 22nd August 2021.Of these 3 players Amjyot Singh and Amritpal Singh have also played in 21st Commonwealth Games held in Australia in 2018 besides other overseas matches.
Teja Singh Dhaliwal Gen Sec PBA also disclosed that there is one more star player trained at LBA, Princepal Singh who has been drafted in NBA to play in USA where earlier 3 players were drafted in NBA. Princepal Singh is the fourth player in the latest selection from India by NBA .He is currently in news for his historical leap as he has become part of the Sacramento Kings’ squad(USA) that went on to win the 2021 NBA Summer League. Yurinder Singh Hayer Sr.VP PBA, M S Bhullar and Darshan Singh Sandhu (VPs of PBA)also complimented the players and coaches. Coach Rajinder Singh is all praise for focussed dedication of Princepal which he said was exemplary at LBA. Meanwhile J P Singh, President DBA, Brij B.Goyal treasurer and Paramveer Bhogal request the Ludhiana business community,citizens and schools to come forward to promote basketball in big way as it has enough potential to give international players from Ludhiana through LBA training when city will soon get 2 more indoor basketball courts under smart city project cleared by Punjab Government recently.
