101st Annual Prize Distribution Function of SCD Government College, Ludhiana was organized on 18th June, 2022 in the Sahir Auditorium.
The function began with the Holy Inspiring Shabad- Deh Shiva Var Mohe Eheo.
It was presided over by Sh. Rajiv Kumar Gupta, IAS, DPI (Colleges) & Prof (Dr) Ashwani Bhalla, ADPI (Colleges) Government of Punjab. The eminent guests were accorded a cordial welcome by the Principal Dr. Pardeep Singh Walia, staff and students of the college.
The principal, Dr Walia said that Sh. Rajiv Gupta has served in a number of very high profile administrative positions and infused a new life into them with his young and fresh perspective. He praised Sh. Gupta for his vision and dynamism. Upon taking charge of his present assignment, he has been constantly motivating colleges to come up with suggestions for effecting improvements, making personal visits to take stock of the situation at grass roots level for student-teacher evaluation. Such interventions lend a new dimension to the teaching-learning process. Dr. Walia also informed that Prof (Dr) Ashwani Bhalla, who spear- headed many programmes in the college with his foresight, has been promoted to the post of ADPI (Colleges) by the Govt of Punjab in recognition of his extraordinary and innovative qualities and dynamism. Thereafter, the Principal presented the annual report of the college, giving a brief overview of the rich history of the college, its illustrious alumni, and also highlighted the achievements of the different departments of the college in the field of academics, sports and cultural activities.
On this occasion Roll of Honour for Academics was bestowed upon 20 students; for Sports, upon 5 students; for NCC, upon 3 students; and for cultural achievements, upon 2. College Colour for Academics was bestowed upon 10 students; for Sports, upon 30 students, and for Cultural, upon 40 students. The coveted Sahir Order of Merit was conferred upon Vibhu (M.A I Hindi). 2 sports students were conferred the coveted Olympian Jagdev Singh award – Kanwar Gurbaz Singh Sandhu (Basketball) & Gurkomal Singh Gill (Athletics). Satish Chander Dhawan Award was bestowed upon 2 students – Yachna Sharma of MA Hindi & Ayushi Tyagi of MA Geography. Ayushi Tyagi stood 1st in all the 4 semesters of PU, Chandigarh. Yachna Sharma stood 1st in over all semesters of PU, Chandigarh. These awards are given only to those achievers who have already been awarded the Roll of Honour. In addition, Merit certificates were also presented to 92 students. Editors of the college magazine ‘The Sutlej’ and, members of Students’ Council were also honoured for successfully organizing all functions of the college. The STUDENT OF THE YEAR CUP went to VIBHU from MA II Hindi for his overall achievements in the past two years. He has also been awarded the Best Speaker. The Roll of Honour, he had already won in his under graduate years.
Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Rajiv Kumar Gupta congratulated the prize winners upon their achievements and motivated them to carry further the glorious legacy of their alma mater. He also shared that the education system in the process of being revamped, education would become more affordable and more opportunities would be provided to the students that would benefit them in the long run.
He also declared that given the excellent performance of the college students in sports, the government would undertake the revamping of the college Athletic track.
The Chief Guest, Sh. Rajiv Gupta and ADPI, Dr. Ashwani Bhalla along with officials from the administration and other guests were honoured.On this occasion, the college magazine ‘The Sutlej’ was also released. Dr. Tanvir Likhari thanked the Chief Guest and all the other guests for boosting the morale of the students on this special day in their life. The function concluded with the rendition of the national anthem.
This program was organized by the examination branch of the college in which Dean Examination Dr. Gursharanjit Singh Sandhu, Prof. Nishi Arora, Prof. Monica Arora, Prof. Nitin Sood, Prof. Sondeep, Prof. RC Sandhu, Mr. Rohit Sharma, Mr. Deepak Rawat and Mr. Gurdeep Singh played an important role.

एससीडी सरकारी कॉलेज में वार्षिक पुरस्कार वितरण समारोह का आयोजन
एससीडी गवर्नमेंट कॉलेज, लुधियाना का 101वां वार्षिक पुरस्कार वितरण समारोह आयोजित किया गया। मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में समारोह की अध्यक्षता श्री राजीव कुमार गुप्ता, आईएएस, डीपीआई (कॉलेज) पंजाब सरकार ने की। कार्यक्रम के विशिष्ट अतिथि डॉ. अश्वनी भल्ला (ए डी पी आई (कॉलेज) विशेष रूप से पधारे। प्राचार्य डॉ. प्रदीप सिंह वालिया, कॉलेज स्टाफ और कॉलेज के छात्रों ने उनका गर्मजोशी से स्वागत किया। प्राचार्य डॉ. वालिया ने मुख्य अतिथि श्री राजीव कुमार गुप्ता जी का परिचय देते हुए उनकी गतिशीलता और दूरदृष्टि के बारे में बताया। उन्होंने बताया कि श्री गुप्ता ने कई उच्च स्तरीय प्रशासनिक पदों पर कार्य किया है और अपने युवा और नए दृष्टिकोण से उनमें एक नया जीवन प्रदान किया है। अपने वर्तमान कार्यभार को संभालने के बाद, वे लगातार कॉलेजों को सुधार के लिए सुझाव देते हैं और प्रेरित भी करते हैं। आजकल वे छात्र-शिक्षक मूल्यांकन के लिए जमीनी स्तर पर स्थिति का जायजा लेने के लिए व्यक्तिगत दौरा कर रहे हैं। डॉ. वालिया ने यह भी बताया कि विशिष्ट अतिथि प्रोफेसर (डॉ) अश्विनी भल्ला ने अपनी दूरदृष्टि से कॉलेज में कई कार्यक्रमों का नेतृत्व किया, उनको पंजाब सरकार द्वारा उनके असाधारण और अभिनव गुणों और गतिशीलता के सम्मान में एडीपीआई (कॉलेज) के पद पर पदोन्नत किया गया है। तत्पश्चात प्राचार्य ने महाविद्यालय की वार्षिक रिपोर्ट प्रस्तुत करते हुए महाविद्यालय के समृद्ध इतिहास का संक्षिप्त विवरण दिया तथा महाविद्यालय के विभिन्न विभागों की शिक्षा, खेलकूद एवं सांस्कृतिक गतिविधियों के क्षेत्र में उपलब्धियों पर भी प्रकाश डाला।
इस अवसर पर 20 छात्रों को एकेडमिक रोल ऑफ ऑनर प्रदान किया गया। इसके साथ ही 5 छात्रों पर खेल के लिए; 3 छात्रों पर एनसीसी के लिए रोल ऑफ ऑनर से नवाजा गया। इसी प्रकार सांस्कृतिक उपलब्धियों के लिए 10 छात्रों को अकादमिक कॉलेज कलर का सम्मान प्रदान किया गया; 30 छात्रों को खेल के लिए, और 40 छात्रों को सम्मानित किया गया। सांस्कृतिक क्षेत्र में श्रेष्ठ उपलब्धि के लिए प्रतिष्ठित साहिर ऑर्डर ऑफ मेरिट विभु (एम.ए. हिंदी) को प्रदान किया गया। इस प्रकार 2 खिलाड़ियों को प्रतिष्ठित ओलंपियन जगदेव सिंह पुरस्कार – कंवर गुरबाज सिंह संधू और गुरकोमल सिंह गिल को सम्मानित किया गया। सतीश चंदर धवन पुरस्कार 2 छात्रों को प्रदान किया गया – जिनमें एम.ए.हिंदी की यचना शर्मा और एम.ए .भूगोल की आयुषी त्यागी शामिल हैं। आयुषी त्यागी ने पीयू, चंडीगढ़ के सभी 4 सेमेस्टर में प्रथम स्थान प्राप्त किया। याचना शर्मा पीयू, चंडीगढ़ के सभी सेमेस्टर में प्रथम स्थान पर रही। इसके साथ ही 92 छात्रों को मेरिट सर्टिफिकेट भी प्रदान किए गए। इस अवसर पर प्रो. सुरजीत सिंह भाटिया गोल्ड मैडल, प्रो. आर एल अग्रवाल अवार्ड, प्रो विशरत शर्मा मेमोरियल अवार्ड, प्रो पी सी वाधवा अवार्ड, प्रो एस के वशिष्ट गोल्ड मैडल, प्रो सतीश कांत मेमोरियल अवार्ड, प्रो धरम सिंह गिल मेमोरियल अवार्ड एवं कैश अवार्ड तथा जतिन्दर मोहन अवार्ड विभिन्न विभागों के अकादमिक स्तर के श्रेष्ठ विद्यार्थियों को प्रदान किया गया। महाविद्यालय की पत्रिका ‘सतलुज’ के संपादकों और छात्र परिषद के सदस्यों को भी महाविद्यालय के सभी समारोहों के सफलतापूर्वक आयोजन के लिए सम्मानित किया गया। मुख्य अतिथि द्वारा वर्ष 2022 के “स्टूडेंट्स ऑफ द ईयर ” पिछले दो वर्षों में अपनी समग्र उपलब्धियों के लिए एमए हिंदी द्वितीय वर्ष के विभु को घोषित किया गया। विभू को बेस्ट स्पीकर, रोल ऑफ ऑनर, साहिर ऑर्डर ऑफ मेरिट, मेरिट सर्टिफिकेट आदि से भी नवाजा गया। इस अवसर पर बोलते हुए श्री. राजीव कुमार गुप्ता ने पुरस्कार विजेताओं को उनकी उपलब्धियों पर बधाई दी और उन्हें अपनी मातृ संस्था की गौरवशाली विरासत को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए प्रेरित किया। श्री गुप्ता ने जोर दे कर कहा कि छात्रों के लिए सुलभ और सस्ती शिक्षा के लिए वे प्रतिबद्ध हैं। इस दिशा में यथोचित कार्य किये जा रहे हैं। तदोपरांत मुख्य अतिथि, विशिष्ट अतिथि एवं अन्य अतिथियों का सम्मान किया गया।
इस अवसर पर महाविद्यालय की पत्रिका ‘सतलुज’ का विमोचन भी किया गया। डॉ तनवीर लिखारी ने मुख्य अतिथि और अन्य सभी मेहमानों को इस विशेष अवसर पर पधारकर छात्रों का मनोबल बढ़ाने के लिए धन्यवाद ज्ञापित किया। राष्ट्रगान के साथ कार्यक्रम का समापन हुआ।यह कार्यक्रम कालेज के परीक्षा शाखा द्वारा करवाई गई जिसमें डीन परीक्षा डॉ गुरशरनजीत सिंह संधू, प्रो निशि अरोड़ा, प्रो मोनिका अरोड़ा, प्रो नितिन सूद, प्रो सोनदीप, प्रो आरसी संधू, श्री रोहित शर्मा, श्री दीपक रावत तथा श्री गुरदीप सिंह ने महत्त्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई।
