Bikramjit Singh Sahni  Punjab MP asks central Agri Minister for adequate representation of Punjab in MSP committee


Bikramjit Singh Sahni  an MP from Punjab has requested   Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar to include representative of Punjab Govt.and some agricultural experts from Punjab Agriculture University in the Agriculture committee constituted to make MSP more effective & transparent and to fill vacant seats in Commission for Agriculture cost and price (CACP)  for non-official members ie farmers with adequate representation from Punjab. He also said that dialogue must continue with Punjab farmers as Punjab is the biggest contributor to the food bowl of India.This statement was made by him in a video talk released in the media.He also promised to raise the issue in the Parliament.

It has to be recalled that Punjab’s farmers under the banner of Samyukt Kisan Morcha(SKM) protested against the central farm bills which were ultimately withdrawn with a promise of GOI to form a MSP panel to discuss further.
