Swarnjit Savi’s – ‘Maan Di Chip’ -Sahitya Academy Award Winning 2023 poetry book unleashes strong creative dialogue in literary circles against AI & Techno challenges to human existence-Say Critiques .

Punjabi Sahit Academy, Ludhiana in a first of its kind a book review recent times chose Swarnjit Savi’s – ‘Maan Di Chip’ -Sahitya Academy Award Winning 2023 poetry book by inviting many scholars to Punjabi Bhawan on Sunday for a lively book review when a number of papers were read and discussed by the eminent writers.

The function was presided over by Dr Attey Singh,Prof Amarjit Singh Grewal and Dr Gulzar Pandher, General Secretary of the academy where Swarnjit Singh Sawi and his wife Mrs Manjit Kaur were present .

Reading his paper Dr Parveen Kumar from Punjab University Chandigarh, he caught attention of the listeners with a pin drop silence. He quoted a number of poem of Savi from the book awakening to the dangers of artificial intelligence and excessive techno onslaught  which are eating very vitals of human life of peace and equanimity . Savi still hopes on Shabad-Surti-Dhun-Moorat in the common parlance of our cultural heritage in his poetry said Dr Parveen.

Other two papers were read on behalf of Dr Akaal Amrit Kaur And Dr Amarjit Singh (0f Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Open University, Patiala) which again caught serious attention of the listeners when speakers quoted a number of poems of Savi’s book which jolted our consciousness suitably to keep aware of dangers of AI and Technology excesses. These two papers were read respectively by Dr Sandeep Baath and Dr Gurzant Rajewana in the absence of the writers of these papers

Prof Amarjit Singh Grewal said that in order to understand and deconstruct the cultural politics that made up Swaranjit Savi’s book ‘The Chip of the Mind’, one has to have an ideological dialogue with him through his poetry. Savi in almost each of his poem has brought forth the subject of internet of everything posing dangers to future of humanity seriously fearing about it’s disastrous impact on civilization. In a state like Punjab in the so-called global world this transition to AI & technology in every domain of life is posing a serious challenge and Savi’s poetry befittingly gives us many anchors and saviors in our traditional wisdom of philosophy of our Seers and Gurus. Savi makes a call to look forward trampling all dangers of Ai & technology and for Savi quotes to hold SHABAD as such which is divine whisper of soul which must be caught without giving them meanings furthermore to avoid strife and disillusionment .

As encouraged by Dr Pandher a spirited participation from the audience came up when Brij Bhushan Goyal, Rupinder Maan Muktsar, Dr Paramjit Singh Sohal, Jaspreet Kaur Amalrtas, Mandeep Kaur and Jasvir Singh posed their questions which were suitably answered by Prof Parveen, Prof Grewal and Prof. Attey Singh.

Especially present on the occasion were S. Malkit Singh Daakha, a former Punjab Minister and Literature lover. Other writers present were Poet Tarlochan Lochi,Malkiat Singh Aulakh,Bhagwaan Dhillon,Inderjitpal Kaur,Surindrr Deep, Inderjit Kaur Lotey,Tarlochan Singh,Daljit Singh Baaghi,Gurjan Singh Rajiana,Jorawar Singh, Simran Dugga,Balkor Singh Gill, Sarabjit Singh Virdi, Sandeep Kaur, Kulwinder Kuamr, Surjit Singh Lambra and many other literary fans.   

In his concluding remarks Prof Attey Singh said that discussion held on ‘Mann Di Chip’ puts forward very serious questions and more we go deep in Savi’s poetry, the more easy it will be to find answers for betterment of life which is challenged by artificial intelligence, superficiality and technology.
