Olive is a small very useful and sacred tree belonging to the family OLEACEAE with the botanical name OLEA EUROPAEA.The executive board of UNESCO has urged to celebrate November 26 as ‘World Olive Tree‘ every year. The annual celebration will definitely go a long way to safeguard this ancient tree and preserve its long-standing value. Truly speaking it’s one of the most beloved trees in the history of mankind. It is considered holy since ancient Greek times. The Olive tree has been mentioned innumerable times in the Bible. Since time immemorial it is considered a symbol of peace, longevity, harmony, growth, rebirth and friendship. The tree has also been a rich source of inspiration to many poets, authors and artists .The roots of the tree are so strong that it can regenerate itself even if its shoot system gets destroyed.
