DELAYED MSME PAYMENTS DISPUTE RESOLUTION PICS UP @ LUDHIANA FACILITATION COUNCIL –CREDITS PB.GOVERNMENT INITIATIVE – ADC (PROJECTS) PRESIDES 78th MEETING.
Dec.2 The 78th delayed payment council proceedings were conducted by District Council Ludhiana. The meeting which was presided over by Smt. Neeru Katyal Gupta, ADC(Projects), Ludhiana was also attended by Member Advocate Shri Himanshu Walia, Shri Nisar Ahmed LDM and Sh Mahesh Khanna, Convener –Cum- GM Industries.
In a Press Note of 1st Dec. Mr. Khanna informs that ,THE DISTRICT LEVEL MICRO AND SMALL ENTERPRISES FACILITATION COUNCIL, LUDHIANA is a Quasi Judicial Authority duly Established by The Punjab state Government with due Notification as per provisions of Micro Small & Medium Enterprises Development Act of 2006.
In this 78th Meeting, 46 cases were enlisted for conciliation proceedings and 23 cases were enlisted for arbitration proceedings, As usual proceedings fetched good results and settled a case worth rupees Sixty Two Lacs through amicable mutual settlement among the enterprises.
Here, this is important to note that The District Council has been established by Punjab Govt by due Notification and it convenes its meetings since November 2018.the number of references has now touched the 1000th as informed by GM DIC
Presently, meetings are convened every Tuesday- i.e once in a week. However, considering the escalated numbers of references and to conduct proceedings expediently, it has been decided by District Council that now it will convene meetings for two days in every week i.e every Tuesday and Thursday respectively, Conciliation proceedings shall be conducted from 9:30 AM to 1 PM.
Similarly, the Arbitration Proceedings shall also be convened on every Tuesday & Thursday respectively from 2:30 p.m. onwards.
Any enterprise, which is SSI registered, EM-II acknowledged or having UAM or Udyam Registered can invoke the jurisdiction of this District council under Section 18 of MSME Development Act.
The District Micro and Small Enterprises Facilitation Council Ludhiana is providing alternate dispute resolution services and have jurisdiction to act as an Arbitrator or Conciliator under this Act in a dispute between the supplier located within its jurisdiction and a buyer located anywhere in India, said Mr. Khanna.
