MLAs take up issues related to their constituencies with DC, CP & MC Commissioner –3 city MLAs hold meeting with the officers at DC office.
District Administration officials assure of full cooperation to MLAs
Ludhiana, June 18:
Three city MLAs Rajinderpal Kaur Chhina from Ludhiana (South), Kulwant Singh Sidhu from Atam Nagar and Daljit Singh Grewal from Ludhiana (East) today took up various issues related to their constituencies with Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik, Commissioner of Police Dr Kaustubh Sharma and MC Commissioner Dr Shena Agarwal.
This meeting was held in the office of Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana today morning.
During the meeting, the MLAs took up issues related to potable drinking water, sewerage problem, roads, streetlights, static compactors for effective solid waste management, developing green belts/parks on vacant lands, law and order etc.
The MLAs asked the senior officers that ward wise lists of Safai Karamcharis should be provided to them. They said that it has been observed that in some wards, Safai Karamcharis do not report on duty, resulting in poor cleanliness in those areas.
MC Commissioner Dr Shena Agarwal directed MC Joint Commissioner Poonam Preet Kaur to look into the matter and provide updated lists to the MLAs.
While replying to a query related to illegal colonies, the officers assured of zero tolerance towards it. They assured the MLAs that new illegal colonies would not be allowed to mushroom in the city and warned of strict action against any person trying to indulge in it.
Ludhiana (South) MLA Rajinderpal Kaur Chhina asked the police to intensify patrolling in her constituency, especially at night time. She also took up issue related to potable drinking water in her constituency.
MLA Daljit Singh Grewal took up issues related to Budha Nullah, Rahon Road, traffic congestion in the area, clearing of solid waste from Sabzi Mandi, etc.
After the meeting, DC, CP and MC Commissioner assured full cooperation to the MLAs and urged them to bring any issues related to their constituencies directly to their notice.
