PAU’s Retired teacher, Gurbhajan Gill’s book of selected ghazals titled “Itfaq” has been released by PAU Vice Chancellor Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal in presence of other prominent personalities in Dr. Manmohan Singh Auditorium. Earlier here, a play ‘Mein Jallianwala Bagh Bolda’ was enacted by youth, wherein many literary luminaries and teachers graced the occasion.

Prof. Gurbhajan Gill had been a teacher in PAU and also worked as Senior Editor of famed monthly magazine ‘Changi Kheti’ for a long time. Attending the book release on the occasion were Dr Makhan Singh Bhullar, Director Extension Education, Col. Jasjit Singh Gill, patron of Dr Keho Ram Society, Dr Kuldeep Singh, Head Extension Education, Tarlocahan Lochi, VP of Punjabi Sahit Academy, Dr Anil Sharma, President Punjab Cultural Society, Ravinder Rangoowal, A Film Director and Ajaypal Singh Poonia a prominent Hockey Player

 On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr. Satbir Singh Ghosal praised the literary heritage of Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana and said that not only science but also literature has developed in the corridors of PAU.

Dr. Mr. Randhawa A former VC of university duly honoured the literary luminaries by giving them opportunity to work in PAU which included Yuga Kavi Prof. Mohan Singh, S. Kulwant Singh Virk, Ajaaib Chitarkar ,Principal Sant Singh Sekhon, Gulzar Singh Sandhu, Krishan Adeeb  and Dr Surjit Patar who all made university proud. He said that though in PAU people like Dr Vidya Bhaskar Arun,Dr SS Dosanjh,Dr S N Sewak and Dr Sadhu Singh too worked earlier  but the contribution of Dr M S Randhawa has been unparalleled.

 Dr Gosal said that it is also a matter of pride that Prof Gurbhajan Gill serving 30 years in PAU with us has contributed significantly for its prominence. Gill’s gifting 70 copies of his books here  for students is a pride for us too. Prof. Gurbhajan Singh Gill also contributed immensely in promoting the literary identity of this university. New generation will learn a lot from about elders from his books.

On this occasion, Gurbhajan Gill said that the honour received by him serving with nine vice chancellors, fellow teachers and students during their service in this university is so great that even now his heart always yearns to come here again and again. He also thanked Director of Extension Education Dr. Makhan Singh Bhullar and Dr. Thanks to Anil Sharma, who gave him an opportunity to meet such a good company on the occasion of a  drama presentation.

Dr. Anil Sharma informed about other books of Prof Gurbhajan Gill like Sheesha Jhooth Bolda Hei, Har Dukhda Pind Mera Hei,Surakh Samandar,Do Haraf Raseedi,Agan Katha,Man De Boohe Baarian,Dharti Naad, Kher Panja Paanian Di,Phoolan Di Jhanhar, Paardarshi,Morpankh,Man Tandoor,Taarian De Naal Gallan Kardian,Gulnaar, Mirganwaali,Raavi, Surtaal, Vharakhri,Pipal Pattian(Songs), Jalkan, Pattei Pattei Likhi Ibarat( A coffee Table Book with artistic touch of Tej Partap Singh Sandhu) and Akhar Akhaar (Big Font-Gazal Book).

Itfaq is a book of 106 ghazals selected out of 900 ghazals written by Gurbhajan Gill, which has been edited by GNDU’s researcher teachers  Dr.  Satinderjit Singh Sunny Pakhoke and Prof Jagmeet Singh of BBK DAV College, Amritsar.

He also thanked for presenting 70 books to all the actors and collaborators of the play “Main Jallianwala Bagh Bolda ” .
