Boston (USA) technocrat and Professor Dr. Partha S Ghosh calls for Education and Skill Development linkages for competitive development of Ludhiana’s industry

LudhianaA first of its kind in Ludhiana, an interactive seminar on the theme:

“Developing Ludhiana as a global centre of excellence in manufacturing and exports” was addressed by a Boston (USA) technocrat and Professor Dr. Partha S Ghosh.The seminar was held at SCD Govt. College Ludhiana as per collaborative arrangement of college’s Alumni Association and Guru Ram Dass Centre for Economic Growth (GRDCEG)at Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, Ludhiana. The seminar was presided by S Tejvinder Singh of Big Ben Exports, an alumnus of the college and President of GRDCEG and Dr Sajla Kaushal HOD Economics Department were guests of honour.

K B Singh and Jaspal Singh Director and General secretary of GRDCEG also informed participants about Dr Ghosh’s global reach as a thought leader, problem solver and a strategist for over four decades guiding businesses, multinationals and various governments on significant strategic and organizational issues in close to 30 countries in Asia, Africa, EU, North America, South America.

The seminar was very dexterously compered by Brij Bhushan Goyal, Organisational Secretary of the Alumni Association of the college. Others who actively participated in the seminar were Prof Iradeep, Prof Geetanjli, Prof. B P Singh, S Narinder Singh Mason, Col. Jasjit Singh Gill, An eminent environmentalist and Surinder Singh besides Prof P D Gupta and Navdeep Singh from station director of AIR and many others. A prominent Charted Accountant Jasminder Singh, Director GRDCEG spoke of financial challenges facing the industry which impede innovation.

Ludhiana’s Industry has to develop a culture of excellence so that Ludhiana and India could be a world’s reference point. He quoted Japan which has introduced groundbreaking technologies that are perfect fusion of tradition and innovation in every field from automotive to electronics and much more.A smart Ludhiana has to become a Smart Industrial City industry with world class Digital and Infrastructure development under Public Private Partnership mode.

Echoing sentiments of S S Bhogal and Brij Goyal he agreed to convey sentiments of participants for being serious to Punjab’s issues to promote industry and farm cooperatives to India’s Niti Ayog to whom Dr Ghosh keep briefing about the ground realities. Dr Ananad of Vardhman Textiles while too spoke at length about the much needed attention of the state and central government on Ludhiana’s issues. Dr Ghosh replied to volley of question from the participants including to youth for startup ideas. He asked entrepreneurs to be competitive by adopting culture of discipline, zero deviation and spirit of boundless collaboration.
