Observing from heavens, the world leaders’ self and nation centred bent of mind and attitudes failing miserably to usher the mankind into an age of global peace, amity,goodwill and common brotherhood, this woeful-absurd show will certainly upset a great deal the apostles of peace: the Nobel Laureates Martin Luther King Junior, Leo Tolstoy, Dr. Rabindra Nath Tagore and worshipper of non-violence Mahatma Gandhi. The five UNO veto powers have awfully been found wanting in, and incapable of ensuring a harmonious world.

A bird’s eye view of the pell-mell in  all the four directions of the globe for the past couple of years bears testimony to the fact that at regular intervals many nations of the world had to face the music because of the war at home as well as external invasions.

Hamas-Israel War too has reached a point of no return wreaking innocent killings, panic and destruction everywhere demonising the atmosphere in and around the nations touching boundaries with them as well.

Now in context of the idea of new India, the Bard of Avon William Shakespeare’s  dictum “Something is rotten in the state of Denmark”(Hamlet)haunts us all too much. Not only something, but nothing is finetuned so far as plight of India popularly known as “the mother of democracy” is concerned.

The Cs abounding India too, stare the nation’s polity at every step ultimately rendering it hollow and helpless. Truth, values objectivity, fair play, humility, transparency, accountability, consensus, collective wisdom, harmony and magnanimity are the words of the past sounding alien to ears having no room at all in the scheme of things of too much complacent a regime. Owing to ruling dispensation’s fanatic unilateral, exclusive, expansionist outlook because of utmost pooh pooh of dissent and healthy criticism there is no love lost among those at the helm of affairs of the nation and the INDIA bloc and opposition too.

Denouncing and discarding “welfare state“ concept those in power are dithering altogether in direction bent upon frittering away time, energies and rich human resources of the nation on good for nothing, negative, divisive and destructive pursuits. Their scant respect for the law of the land, constitution, federal and parliamentary democracy but sheer “My Way High Way” syndrome behaving just like opposition still not at all believing in their own selves striving to harp and then thrive on denigrating the past regimes on one or the other pretext by dint of coining terms, spinning rhetoric’s always in denial, evasive and boasting mode never admitting their own either mistakes or failures on various fronts have been their new norm and style to mark time just to sustain in power their only religion and mission.

Fond too much of building just castles in the air, the autocratic regime of late boasts, floats and sells dream of”India To Be A Developed Country By 2047″that finds resonating in the air sans any due application of mind,proper planning and foresight,not knowing how to translate this mission into reality?There are no signs of any dedication and devotion to reach the destination but marketing and event management are the hall marks of this power clinging Narendra Modi-03 led NDA.

If crutches of Union Government Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar (two Ns)fail to read the writing on the wall instantly by way of living in fools paradise then they will certainly be digging their own political as well as their parties grave and then ultimately the nation’s too.When will they come to terms with reality and stark realities on the ground to brighten their own and party’s prospects harping on fiscal packages and special status for their respective states? Why should not they think broad minded of an advanced, prosperous and self-reliant an India to be a force to reckon within the world? Those fancying the idea of serving as alternative crutches too will also be having temporary an existence to find them floating and swinging in an air of uncertainty because “use and throw”,”  “double speak,”  “colloquial twists and turns” and  “tokenism” tricks are quite close to Modi’s heart !

It is imperative to know and quiz why the nation is heading towards dangerous and disastrous future? The constitution, parliamentary democracy and federal fabric of nation are face to face with grave challenges and threats from none else but the ruling class itself. Those gracing high offices are  hesitating awfully feeling shy of rising above selfish and parochial tendencies. When their minds and souls are not free from fear and chains what to talk of laypersons of the nation? Nobel Laureate Dr Rabindra Nath Tagore on the eve of nation’s freedom dreamt of an independent India

Exclusive not inclusive mindset is the bone of contention. How strange, after more than seven decades of country’s independence the polity is busy rediscovering and rebuilding temples under mosques instead of laying stress on imparting of affordable quality education and fool proof health care system .Of late, the pivotal organs of the state-legislature, executive, judiciary and the fourth estate barring few exceptions here and there too are dashing people’s aspirations to the ground not  striving to get their acts together to bring certain qualitative changes in the standards of living of the populace of the nation not at all embracing the criteria of parity at all levels.

The yawning chasm between the rich and poor is widening as handful of the capitalists of the nation are offered the long rope to muster wealth by leaps and bounds within just the twinkling of an eye.    Those raising their just voice against the regime not seeing eye to eye with the Centre for its anti-public programmes and policies are taken to task but those yielding to the dictates of the brute power how soever tainted they may be not only get the reprieve but prize positions too. Just for example, Chief Minister Jharkhand Hemant Soren, Erstwhile Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh and Sanjay Raut both Rajya Sabha MPs had to remain behind the bars for not dancing to tunes of authoritarian regime whereas Neerav Modi, Mehul Choksi, Lalit Modi and Vijay Mallya were allowed free and safe passage to foreign lands after they fleeced the nation and tax payers with their alleged corrupt- malpractices duping the nation of thousand crores of rupees. Those accused of taint and malpractices worth Rs hundred Crores had to remain in prison but those accused of thousands and thousand crores of corruption are enjoying sound sleep nights.

Now Gautam Adani and seven others against whom arrest warrants were issued after having been indicted by the United States of America’s Justice Department  for corruption,fraud and conspiracy are roaming freely in the country with  SEBI, CBI, Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax Department turning a blind eye are not daring to question Adani what to talk of initiating any action against them as per the law of the land though the crime had allegedly been committed on Indian soil. There are Ajit Pawars, Suvendu Adhikaris, Mukul Roys, Himant Biswa Sarmas, Eknath Shindes falling in line of “the powers that” be either got clean chits or their much echoed acts of omission and commission pushed under the carpet and ultimately bestowed with coveted positions.

The law of the land does not see everyone with an equal eye that is why those in high constitutional positions  taking an oath in the name of the constitution do not hesitate to abuse their powers and authority quite subjectively, unfairly and blatantly. That is why no-trust motions and impeachment of those defying the constitutional provisions enshrined there in  to woo the supremos at the top to realise their ambitions to enhance their statures further. Vice-President as well as Chairman the Council of States, Jagdeep Dhankhar and Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav of Allahabad High Court are facing the ignominy of Members of Parliament, Social Media and the Civil Society very furiously these days.

Flip- flop but cosmetic foreign policy is also resulting in bitter and strained relations with not only neighbours but with big powers of the world because of partisan and vested domestic political vote bank considerations. That is why the Five Eyes Anglosphere Intelligence Alliance of the United States of America, England, Canada, Australia and New Zealand have India under their surveillance and sharp eye. The Veto Powers are playing hide and seek with India especially China, USA and the United Kingdom either trying to dominate or eyeing India as a market to gratify its vested interests. The  neighbouring nations like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar and Maldives do not have the same sweet soft corner for India as these used to be having in the past most of these now looking up to China for a bright future. The long cherished dream as well as smart designs of China to dominate the world scene deeming Asia as a launching pad to begin with is really a cause of grim and alarming concern.

The attitudinal changes, compassionate and humanistic outlook in all the four directions of the globe to restore peace, affection, harmony and amity is the dire need of the hour.The world leaders must rise above their own selfish individual and hollow- petty national whims striving to join hands together sincerely to usher in co-existential, fearless and amiable world order shunning egoistic and arrogant instincts unlike that of the Duke of Robert Browning’s famous poem “My Last Duchess” who symbolised gross whimsical and majestical pomp and show in this style :
